This post is all about the beginning phases of growing out my pixie cut. When I got my hair cut in March, it wasn't super short and already had a LITTLE bit of length to it. On most days it was unmanageable and almost NEVER looked good unless I straightened it, which was still a hit or miss type deal. Since my hair is thick and has some volume to it, it basically just sat on top of my head looking like a puffball for weeks. But, alas, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. It's been four months (three of which consisted of pure growth of my original haircut) and my hair has made substantial progress.
Now, the first month or two I didn't take many pictures of my hair because I really hated the way it looked, so the ones that I'm posted reflect the most cooperative/crazy my hair was during those months.
So let's get down to it! Here are some of my best and worst hair days during my initial growth stages:
Month 1 (March-April):

Month 2 (April-May):
The first picture (left) you can see my lil' mullet growing in (get that shit trimmed!). Also, that is the way my hair looked daily if I wasn't leaving the house.

Month 3 (May-June):
Roughly three months in, I got my first trim - strictly the mullet to keep it cute, no length taken off the top/sides. I also got the awful brown stripped out of my hair and had a deep purplish red color put on to hide the little bit of my ends that were still bleached. The dye job made the growing phase INFINITELY more bearable.

At the end of the first three months I got a nice new cut to get rid of the forming bob. I'll have a post soon with some pictures of it and my explanation as to why I chose to avoid the bob!
